About Me

My name’s Conor, and this blog is where I share opinions and analysis on the stock market, individual companies, investing strategies, personal finance, and related topics. I started investing in individual stocks back in 2020 after only being an index and mutual fund investor. I still hold index funds in my retirement accounts, but selectively targeting certain stocks has allowed me to progress towards my investing goals at a significantly higher pace.

My primary focus is dividend growth investing, hence the site name Dividend Growth Mindset. My analysis leads me to companies that generate strong cash flows, have an established moat, and are growing their dividend at a high rate year over year. However, I am open to other investment opportunities if the rationale behind them makes sense. I’ve held small positions in “growth” stocks in the past, and while I favor companies that pay a dividend I am not opposed to investing in companies that are still in their earlier growth phases, even if those earlier phases come with higher risk and volatility. I’ve also experimented with trading, options, and even cryptocurrency.

Ideally, I plan to hold shares in the companies I invest in forever, but I also periodically review my portfolio to ensure these positions still align with my investing goals. Companies that have changed their business model in a way I don’t agree with, replaced their management team, been involved in scandals or are making poor use of capital allocation may be removed from the portfolio. These decisions will be the result of analyzing companies from both qualitative and quantitative approaches.
